Thanks for a nicely penned review, makes you wish it was ‘When Friday Comes Around’ all over again. Oh – it is Friday. Well, never mind…

The only bit that seems to have escaped is the generosity of the guys in their occasional ‘open mic’ spots. The Diesels are gaining a spreading reputation for attracting players and singers to join them wherever and whenever – whether it’s adding the extra special ingredients to their studio work or simply to join them on stage for a song or two.
Friday’s spotlights fell on John Wheeler, fresh from adding his sax tones to ‘Ballad of Billy’ in the studio and on Brian Hume of Prelude who came up and sang a couple. It’s always a buzz to hear what the boys can ‘turn their hand to’ unprompted and unrehearsed !!!

And when the “Pete Frame style” Family Tree is eventually drawn for these guys it’s gonna need a big sheet of paper…..

Lookin’ forward to hearing the finished article !!! Looking at the photos of Tynemouth Station in decay it’s a shame that ol’ Neil got to “Rust Never Sleeps” first as an album moniker. Oh well. Unfinished Business has a menacing ring to it – should work well with the moody pix….

… didn’t just go along to get my Manassas album sleeve authographed but he did that & chatted at the break. As you say, a really nice guy and fabulous player. Danny didn’t let the side down, despite protesting lack of prep. No way jose, just the usual self-effacing presence and fluid licks. Always lets the music talk for him….

I saw Elvis Costello a couple of times in the Eighties after he brought out King Of America. Back then he had James Burton playing with him. Fabulous.
