Danny Holmes
Biography
Originally from Cheltenham, Danny moved to the North East at the age of seven. Shortly afterwards he received his first guitar as a last minute Christmas present. He began teaching himself to play by listening to records by Chet Atkins, Duane Eddy and The Ventures. At the age of 14 he was playing lead guitar in an instrumental trio.
Danny has since been a constant fixture on the local music scene and has been called upon to play rock and roll, blues, soul and country. He has accompanyed singer-songwriters Judy Dinning and Pete Scott on their 2005 ‘Waters of Tyne’ tour. Most recently he has been working with the Annie Orwin band.
Other projects have included writing songs for the musical ‘The People Must Pay’ with other local songwriters.
